Pursuing Excellence in Collaborative Community-Campus Research: A National Summit

On November 3rd and 4th, 2014 The Centre for Community Based Research and Community- Based Research Canada are holding a National Summit on Collaborative Community-Campus Research. The summit is invitation-based and intended as a discussions that will guide forward motion in community-engaged practices. Two public events are offered as a part of the summit:

Public Lecture – Monday November 3

This gathering will invite Waterloo community members to participate in a gala reception sponsored by The Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) on the evening of Monday, November 3rd. Register for this event at http://www.cigionline.org/events/learning-life.

Student Forum – Tuesday November 4

Students are invited to attend the Student Forum being held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at  the Paul Martin Centre (located by the dining hall, off Mid-Campus Drive: http://web.wlu.ca/maps/martin.php) at Wilfrid Laurier University. The challenge of tenure and promotion procedures should not be permitted to unduly limit the growth of the movement for community-university engagement in Canada. A dialogue for action on this issue should be launched and sustained until this obstacle is permanently removed.*
