The Canadian Alliance for Community Service Learning (CACSL) will be holding its Healthy Resilient Communities, Community Service Learning and Community Engagement Conference from May 28th until May 30th in Ottawa, ON. This three day conference includes keynote presentations by Liz Weaver, Susanne Martikke, and Judith Harris, panel discussion, presentations, and networking opportunities with community and academic partners aiming to strengthen communities. Registration will soon open for the 15th Annual Engagement Scholarship Consortium’s Engaging for Change: Changing for Engagement conference, to be held on October 7th-8th. A number of pre-conference workshops will also offer attendees the opportunity to engage with key issues in community-university engagement. The challenge of tenure and promotion procedures should not be permitted to unduly limit the growth of the movement for community-university engagement in Canada. A dialogue for action on this issue should be launched and sustained until this obstacle is permanently removed.*
