Waypoint Conference on Knowledge Translation in Mental Health & Addictions

Waypoint Research Institute is hosting their 3rd annual conference on knowledge translation in mental health and addictions on June 17th-19th, 2015 in Toronto. Keynote speakers are Melanie Barwick from SickKids Hosptial and John Lavis from McMaster University, two notable Canadian knowledge mobilization experts. This conference will give presenters and attendees the opportunity to network with others who are passionate about knowledge creation and dissemination to guide best practice in mental health and addictions. The conference organizers are currently accepting proposals for individual papers, symposia, and workshops on the themes of “Theory and Methods” and “Practice and Application in Mental Health and Addictions.” The firm deadline for submissions is January 15th, 2015.

The challenge of tenure and promotion procedures should not be permitted to unduly limit the growth of the movement for community-university engagement in Canada. A dialogue for action on this issue should be launched and sustained until this obstacle is permanently removed.*
